Khajuraho temples were built by Chandela rulers during 950-1050 AD dedicated to Hindu and Jain religions, located in Madhya Pradesh. These are grand structures famous for Nagara style architecture (prominently used in North India) and erotic sculptures. Out of 85 temples constructed at that time ony 25 have survived with Kandariya Mahadev being the most prominent. These temples were lost to thick vegetation and forest during medieval times only to be rediscovered by British explorer T.S Burt.
