From the given graph, it is clear that during the initial stages of digestion very little amount of digested food is absorbed into the bloodstream. As the process of digestion inside the small intestine continues, the amount of absorption also increases.
The region A represents the initial stage of absorption.B and C represents the gradual increases in the absorption of digested food.
As time passes and the process of digestion tends to complete, the rate of absorption reaches the maximum at the region D (peak level).
After the maximum absorption of digested food into the blood, the rate of absorption decreases gradually, which is represented by the region E.
