For two lines to be parallel,
a1a2=b1b2c1c2 -----equation(1)
where, a and b are coefficients of x and y and c is constant
Here, the lines are x+2y4=0 and 2x+4y12=0
a1=1,b1=2,c1=4 and a2=2,b2=4,c2=12
As we can see that,
