The growth movement of plants in response to touch/contact across a support is known as _________.
Thigmotropism
Thigmotropism is the growth movement of the plants in response to touch. The tendrils of a plant are very sensitive towards touch. As soon as they come in contact with a hard support, the growth of the point in contact stops; the tendril then grows from a point farther from the point of contact and this causes the tendril to curve across the support.
Touch-me-not plant is also an example of thigmotropism.
