You know that prime numbers are those numbers that have only two factors one and itself.

So, lets us take one example of two prime numbers are 5 and 7

Now, factors of 5 are 1,5

factors of 7 are 1,7

So, common factors of 5 and 7 is 1

Therefore, the HCF of 5 and 7 is 1

Hence, the HCF of any two prime numbers is always 1
