The height of a tree is 3 times the length of its shadow. Find the angle of elevation of the sun.

Let's assume the length of the shadow of the tree to be x m.
So, the height of the tree =3xm
If θ is the angle of elevation of the sun, then we have
tanθ=3x/x=3=tan600
Therefore, θ=600
