Coal gasification is the process of producing syngas, a mixture consisting primarily of methane $(C H_{4})$ , carbon monoxide $(C O)$ , hydrogen $(H_{2})$ , carbon dioxide $(C O_{2})$ and water vapor $(H_{2} O)$ from coal and water, air and/or oxygen.
