Given: The passing mark for a mathematics exam is 30.

So, if a student scores 30 marks, he is in class interval 30-45. Therefore, students who failed are in class interval 0-15 and 15-30.
The number of students in the class interval 0 - 15 is 6.
8 students are in the class interval 15 - 30.

So, total number of students who failed is (6 + 8) = 14.
