Question
The horizontal component of earth magnetic field at a place is square root of 3 times the vertical component .what is the angle of dip at that place
Open in App
Solution
tangent of Angle of dip = vertical component of earth's field ÷ horizontal component of the field
tan δ = vertical component ÷ (1÷√3)vertical component
tanδ = 1÷√3
δ = 30owhere δ is angle of dip.
