Solution

Dear student,
1. The image formed by a plane mirror is virtual, erect, behind the mirror and the same size as the object.
2. Periscope works on the principle of multiple reflections. It consists of two or more mirror, used for the reflection. If the two mirrors are placed at an angle of 90°, Three images of the object are formed between them.
(calculation: If two plane mirrors are inclined at an angle of 90° to each other, then the number of images formed can be calculated using the formula,
n=360θ=36090=4but as 4 is even number, then the number of image will be n-1=4-1=3as one out of this four image superimpose on an another image)
