The image is then focused on the retina. The image formed is reversed and inverted. Also, the image looks smaller than the external object in view.The lens present in the human eye is made up of convex lens. So the image formation takes place just similar to the image formation of a convex lens. The real and inverted image formed on the retina is carried to the brain by the optic nerve in the form of electrical signals. The brain interprets these signals and processes the information such that we see the objects erect.
