Iron lies above copper in the reactivity series, so iron is more reactive than copper. Hence it will displace copper from copper sulfate solution to form iron sulfate. But gold lies below copper in the reactivity series hence gold is less reactive than copper. So, gold will not be able to displace copper from copper sulfate solution. And no reaction will take place.
