The cerebrum is a part of the forebrain that is divided into two hemispheres, each hemisphere shows four lobes namely - frontal, parietal, temporal and occipital.
The sound waves collected by the external ear are transmitted to the middle ear and further to the inner ear. These sound waves generate an impulse in the inner ear through a series of events. The impulse is transmitted to the temporal lobe of the cerebral hemisphere by the auditory nerve finally leading to sound recognition.
