The inner diameter of a circular well is 3.5 m. It is 10 m deep. Find :

(i) inner curved surface area.

(ii) the cost of plastering this curved surface at the rate of Rs. 40 per m2.

Inner diameter of a well =3.5 m

Inner Radius (r)=3.52=1.75 m

and, depth (or) height, (h)=10 m

(i) Inner curved surface area of the well

=2πrh=2×227×1.75×10

=440×0.25=110 m2

(ii) Rate of plastering per m2 =Rs. 40

Total cost of plastering inner curved surface area =Rs. 40×110=Rs. 4400
