The ionisation energy of He+ is 19.6×1018 J per atom. Calculate the energy of the first stationary state of Li2+.

Open in App
Solution

Solution:-
Ionization energy of He+=19.6×1018J/atom(Given)
As we know that,
I.E.=E1×Z2n2
E1×(2)2(1)2=19.6×1018
E1=19.6×10184=4.9×1018J
Therefore,
ELi+2=4.9×1018×(3)2(1)2
ELi+2=4.41×1017J
Hence the energy of first stationary state pf Li+ is 4.41×1017J.
