The joints between the rib and the breastbone and joints between vertebrae come under ______.
Partially movable joints
There are three major categories of joints in our body: immovable, partially movable and freely movable. The joints between the rib and the breastbone and the joints between vertebrae come under partially movable joints because very little movement occurs between the two bones there.
Immovable joints are found where bones are not flexible. Example: upper jaw. Gliding joint, pivot joint, hinge joint and ball and socket joint are examples of the freely movable joints.
