Solution

Instruction:
The answer to this question can be divided into two parts.

1. Give a brief explanation about Warangal city and fort.
2. Give a reason for how their city planning was good.

Answer:
The Warangal fort was built by Rudradeva in the 12th Century.

The fort was designed in three concentric circular walls mostly to defend the city during the time of war.

The outermost wall had four gates in all four directions and housed agricultural lands and water tanks(for irrigation). Many artisans lived in huts within the outermost wall. The second wall was made of mud and surrounded by a moat, usually created for defensive purposes. The innermost wall was made of mud and stones protecting the royal palaces that stood within its perimeter. This wall, too, had four gates in all four directions.

What is interesting to note here is that each of the four gates had the main road going towards the centre of the city, where there was a temple of Svayambhu Siva.

Furthermore, the city was divided into many quarters or Vadas. This division was based on the occupation of the people.

The above explanation shows the efficient planning of the Kakatiya rulers; thus, I agree with the statement that Kakatiyas were good city planners.
