Question

The kinetic energy of a body of mass 0.5 kg and momentum 30 kgms1 is ___ J.

Open in App
Solution

Given: Momentum, p=30 kgms1, m=0.5 kg

We know kinetic energy, K.E=12mv2 and momentum, p=mvv=pm

So by substituting the value of v in the expression of K.E,

K.E=12 m × (pm)2 =p22m

K.E=p22m =3022×.5 =900 J
