The Einstein's equation for photoelectric effect : K=hcλW

Now, K=hcλ1W....(1)

and 2K=hcλ2W....(2)

So, 2hcλ12W=hcλ2W [using (1)]

or W=hc[2λ11λ2]=(6.62×1034)(3×108)[2/4001/310]×109=3.52×1019J=2.2eV as

[1eV=1.6×1019J]
