Solution

Assumptions of Langmuir adsorbtion isotherm:
1. Gas is considered to behave ideally.
2. A solid surface is considered as homogenous but contains a fixed number of adsorption sites on surface.
3. Each site adsorbs a single molecule. Thus, the adsorption is monomolecular.
4. At equilibrium, Rate of adsorption = Rate of desorption
5. There is no lateral overlap/ interaction between adsorbed molecules.
