There is large between the orbits of the planets, Mars and Jupiter. A large number of small objects occupy this space revolving around the sun. These objects are called as Asteroids and all the group of the objects in the region is called as Asteroid Belt.
On the other hand, Comets do revolve around the sun but they are very far away compared to asteroids and are not present in the asteroid belt region.
