The latitudinal and longitudinal extent of the main land is about 30 degree . Despite this fact east west extent appear to be smaller than the north east extent?

If we notice, north south distance is 3214 km and east west distance is 2933 km and latitudinal and longitudinal extent is about 30 degrees, but still east west appears to be smaller.
East west appears to be smaller than north west because of following reason:
The latitudes are parallel lines and are equidistant from each other that is the distance between the two points is fixed .The longitudes on the other hand are not parallel lines and the distance between the lines decreases from equator to the poles. The distance is rather maximum near the equator and minimum once we move at the poles.
