Question

The length and breadth of three rectangles are given below. Find which on has greater perimeter and which one has least area.
(a) 10 m and 6 m
(b) 20 m and 10 m
(c) 15 m and 5 m

a) 10 m & 6 m
Perimeter =2(10+6)=32 m & area =10×6=60 m2.

b) 20 m & 10 m
Perimeter =2(20+10)=60 m & area =20×10=200 m2.

c) 15 m & 5 m
Perimeter =2(15+5)=40 m & area =15×5=75 m2.
the Rectangle which is having greatest perimeter is of perimeter =60 m i.e. option (b) and least area =60 m2, i.e. option(a).
