Since it is a rectangle, the diagonals will be of equal in length.
For the figure as shown, l=12cm, w=5cm

Applying pythagoras theorem in the figure,
$d^2=w^2+l^2$
$d^2=5^2+{12}^2$
$d^2=25+144$
$d^2=169$
Taking square root both sides,
Length of diagonals = d = 13cm
