Given:Length of the room $= l = 6$ m
Breadth of the room $= b = 4.5$ m and
height of the room $= h = 3$ m
Walls and the ceiling are to be whitewashed $=$ lateral surface area of a cuboid $+ l b$
$= 2 (b h + l h) + l b$
$= 2 h (l + b) + l b$
$= (2 \times 3 (6 + 4.5) + 6 \times 4.5)$ sq.m
$= 6 (10.5) + 27.0$
$= 63 + 27 = 90 m^{2}$
Cost for white washing per $m^{2} =$ Rs. $8$
Cost for white washing per $90 m^{2} =$ Rs. $8 \times 90 =$ Rs. $720$
