The length of a chord which is at a distance of 12cm from the centre of a circle of radius 3cm is

I HOPE THAT THE RADIUS IS 13 cm AND YOU WROTE 3cm BY MISTAKE.
So am solving the answer in that way.

By the property of circle that-

Perpendicular dream from centre to chord bisects the chord.

So by Pythagoras theorem,

H=radius of circle=13cm.

P=perpendicular distance=12,

and 'l' be the length of half chord( bisects the chord).

l=√(169–144)=5

This the length of chord will be 10cm.
