Question

The length of a cuboid is twice its breadth.The breadth is twice its height.Find the ratio of the lateral surface area to the total surface area of the cuboid.Given that the height of the cuboid is 2 cm

Open in App
Solution

Height of cuboid=2cm
Given breadth=2*height=2*2=4cm
length=2*breadth=2*4=8cm

Lateral surface area of cuboid= 2*(l*h+b*h)=2*(8*2+4*2)=2*(16+8)=2*24=48cm^2
Total surface area=2*(l*b+b*h+h*l)=2*(8*4+8*2+4*2)=2*(32+16+8)=2*56=112cm^2

Ratio of LSA/TSA=48/112=3/7
