The correct option is C $12c{m}^2$

Let the width of the rectangle is x cm

Then length of the rectangle =x+1 cm (given length of rectangle is 1 cm more then width

So perimeter of rectangle =$2(length+width)=2(x+1+x)=2(2x+1)$

But perimeter = 14 cm (Given)

$\therefore 2(2x+1)=14\Rightarrow 2x+1=7\Rightarrow 2x=7-1\Rightarrow x=3$

Then wigth =3 cm and length=3+1=4 cm

$\therefore areaofrectangle=length\times wigth=4\times 3=12c{m}^2$
