The correct option is B

20 cm2


Let ABCD be the rectangle with AB = 10cm and CB = 5cm

Let the breadth be decreased by 2 cm with AE = 2 cm

Area of original rectangle ABCD = 10×5 cm2

Area of new rectangle EFCD = 10×(52)

=10×510×2

Hence, decrease in area =10×2=20 cm2
