Solution

Length of the rectangle = 16 cm.

Length of the side of square = 12.5 cm.

Perimeter of a square = 4 x Side = 4 x 12.5 = 50 cm.

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2 ( Length + Width)

2 ( Length + Width) = 50

2 (16 + Width) = 50

32 + 2 x Width = 50

Width = 50 - 32 / 2 = 9 cm.

So the area of the rectangle = Length x Width = 16 x 9 = 144 Sqr. Cm.

Ans: 144 Sqr. cm.
