The length of a rectangle is 3 cm more than its width and area is 54 cm2. Find the perimeter of the rectangle.

The correct option is B 30 cm
Let the width be x
length =x+3
x(x+3)=54
x2+3x54=0
On factoring we get,
(x+9)(x6)=0
x=9 or x=6
So, length of the rectangle will be possible, if x=9
and width =6
Perimeter of the rectangle =2×(l+w)
=2(9+6)
=30 cm
