The length of a rectangle is twice the width of it. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 42 m, find the area of the rectangle.
Let the breadth of rectangle be x
Length = 2x
Perimeter = 2 (length + breadth)
Perimeter, 2(x + 2x) = 42 m
⇒ 3x = 21 m
On solving, we get x = 7 m
Breadth = 7 m
Length = 14 m
Area = length × breadth = 98 m2
