The length of a rectangle is twice the breadth. If its perimeter is $60$ metres, then find its length.

First we have to make our mathematical sentence from the data provided to figure the width which we will call X. We will use X for width (breath) and use 2X for length since length is twice the length of width. We also know there is 2 lengths and 2 widths to equal the perimeter.

Our sentence will be as follow: $2\left(2X\right)+2\left(X\right)=60m.$ Lets start working the sentence to find X.

$2\left(2X\right)+2\left(X\right)=60$

$4X+2X=60$

$6X=60$ now we divide each side by 6.

$\frac{6X}{6}=\frac{60}{6}$

$X=10$

$\therefore Length=20m$
