Let the breadth of field is $x$ so length is $2x$

Then the area of field $=2x\times x=2x^2$

Inside the field square pond $8m$ long

Then area of square $=(8{)}^2=64$

Given $\frac{1}{8}$ area of field $=$ Area of pond

$\therefore \frac{2x^2}{8}=64\Rightarrow 2x^2=512\Rightarrow x^2=256\Rightarrow x=16$

So length of field $=2\times 16=32m$
