The length of a rectangular field is twice its breadth. If the perimeter of the field is 150 m, find its length and breadth.

Open in App
Solution

Let the length and breadth of the rectangular field be l and b respectively.

According to the question, we have

2(l+b)=150(i) [ Perimeter =150 m]

l+b=75

Given that, l=2b(ii)

Using eq.(ii) in (i), we have

2b+b=75

3b=75

b=25

Now, l+25=75

l=50

Hence, the length and breadth of the given rectangle are 50 m and 25 m respectively.
