Perimeter of a rectangle = $2(l+b)$
$100=$ $2(l+b)$
$\frac{100}{2}=(l+b)$
$(l+b)=50$
Here we take the width $b$ as $x$, then as per the given information we get $l=3x+2$
By putting the values of $l$ and $b$ we get the equation as,
$50=3x+2+x$
$50=4x+2$
$4x=48$
$x=12$
And here we know that $l=3x+2$
$\therefore l=12\times 3+2$
$l=38$ feet.
