Solution

The correct option is A 0.66 m,0.33 m,0.22 m
Given that,
Length of the sonometer wire, L=1.21 m
f=n2LTμ

Suppose the lengths of the three segments are L1,L2 and L3 respectively. The fundamental frequencies are,
f1=12L1Tμ...(A)
f2=12L2Tμ...(B)
f3=12L3Tμ...(C)

Given, f1:f2:f3=1:2:3...(i)
and f1L1=f2L2=f3L3..(ii)
[From A,B and C]

From the equation (i), we can write.
f2=2f1 and f3=3f1
So, by equation (ii),
L2=f1f2L1=L12
& L3=f1f3L1=L13

L1+L2+L3=1.21 m
L1+L12+L13=1.21 mL1=0.66 m
L2=L12=0.662=0.33 m
& L3=L13=0.663=0.22 m
Thus, option (a) is correct.
