The diagonals of the rhombus are perpendicular and bisect each other. , the diagonal of 8 cm is divided into two segments 4 cm long. Using the Pythagorean theorem and any of the right triangles to solve for x.
52=42+x2
x2=2516=9
x=3
Area of a rhombus=12×d1×d2
where d1=8 cm and d2=3×2=6 cm
Area=12×8×6=24sq.cm
