The length of the adjacent sides a parallelogram are 51cm ans 37cm. One of it's diagonal is 20cm, Find the area of the parallelogram.

Let the two adjacent sides of the parallelogram be a = 51 cm, b = 37 cm
Let the length of diagonal be c = 20 cm
Diagonal of a parallelogram divided it into 2 congruent triangles.
These two sides and the diagonal forms a triangle
Semi-perimeter s= a+b+c2s = 51+37+202 = 54 cmBy heron's formula, Area of triangle = ss-as-bs-cArea of triangle =5454-5154-3754-20Area of triangle =54×3×17×34Area of triangle =306 cm2Area of parallelogram = 2× Area of triangle = 2×306 = 612 cm2
