The correct option is C a = 6, b = 4
Equation of line passing through (5, 1, a) and (3, b, 1) is
x52=y11b=zaa1=λ.
If line crosses yz-plane i.e., x = 0
x=2 λ +5=0
λ = 5/2,
Since, y=λ(1b)+1=172
52(1b)+1=172
b=4.
Also, z=λ(a1)+a=132a=6.
