Question

The linear magnification of a convex mirror is 12.5 cm. How far is its center of curvature (i) from the pole (ii) from the focus

Open in App
Solution

since lenear magnification have no unit but in question it has unit cm
so it will be focal length
so focal length F=12.5cm
(1)the distance between pole and centre of curvature is radius of curvature(R)
R=2F=2 x 12.5cm = 25cm
(2)focus is the mid point of pole and centre of curvature
so distance from focus to centre of curvarure = F = 12.5 cm
