Solution

The correct option is B collenchyma
Collenchyma is an example of a simple living mechanical tissue. The cell wall is made of cellulose, hemicellulose and pectin. The presence of pectin enables the tissue to provide mechanical support in the form of tensile strength and elasticity to the plants. Tensile strength means the ability to resist breaking under tension. So when a branch is bent or a plant is bent, we see that it does not easily break. This is the resistance offered by collenchyma as mechanical support.

Parenchyma is a simple living tissue and the cell wall is made up of cellulose.
Sclerenchyma is a simple dead mechanical tissue. The cell wall is made up of cellulose and lignin.
