Magnetic field lines are imaginary lines drawn around a magnet. Outside the magnet, field lines orginates at north pole of the magnet and ends at south pole. Inside the magnet, they orginates at the south pole and ends at the north pole. Hence the magnetic field lines always form a closed loop. The strength of the field increases with increase in the number of lines.
