Strength at 1 > 2 > 3


Closer the magnetic field lines, stronger will be the magnetic field. Near the head of a bar magnet, magnetic fields are stronger and as we move away from it, the magnetic field strength decreases. In the figure, the magnetic field lines are closest to each other at point 1 than at point 2 and 3. The magnetic field lines are wider at point 3 than at point 2. Hence, the magnetic field strength is higher at point 2 than at point 3.
