The magnitude of force depends on weight of object as well as the condition of the surface in contact with it.
The friction is proportional to the component of the force applied perpendicular to the surface of the object travelling or rubbing against it and the force is proportional to mass. Hence magnitude of force depends on weight of the object.
Friction also depends on the condition of surface in contact with as a surface having smooth surface area will have less frictional force between two surfaces whereas if the object is having a rough surface area thenn the frictional force produced will be greater.
