The correct option is A Very High
The resistance of the resistor connected in series with the voltmeter should be of high value so that very less amount of current flows through the combination. Because potential drop is V =IR, if the current is reduced to a very large extent, the potential drop will be negligible which in turn will not change the potential difference much across the points where we actually want to measure the potential drop with the help of voltmeter.
