While Amphibians can survive on land and water, reptiles are completely land animals. There are many differences between amphibians and reptiles.
1. Amphibians have scale-less skin whereas reptiles have scales, shields or plates on their skin.
2. Amphibians in the larval stages respire by gills whereas reptiles respire only by lungs.
3. Amphibians require water for reproduction whereas reptiles reproduce by hard-shelled eggs laid on land.
4. The young ones of amphibians look different from that of adults. They undergo a change called metamorphosis to look like an adult. On the other hand, young ones of reptiles look like miniature adults (no metamorphosis).
