One molecule of water adds to an alkyne when it is warmed with HgSO4 and dil. H2SO4 at 333 K to forms a carbonyl compound.
The addition of H2O to the alkynes follows Markovnikov's rule.
Here, OCH3 will stabilise the positive charge on carbon at its para position so OH gets added to carbon at para position of OCH3.

Then, the formed enol undergoes keto-enol tautomerism to form the keto product.
