The marking of pathogens by coating them with antibodies is called
Opsonization
In case a bacterium or any pathogen enters the bloodstream, the B cells produce antibodies specific to that pathogen. These antibodies coat the pathogen by binding the surface antigens. The coating of antibodies marks the pathogen and it can be easily destroyed by the phagocytic cells. This process of marking the pathogen for destruction is called opsonisation.
