Sum of marks $= 18 + 35 + 2 + 27 + 40 + 0 + 21 + 33 + 27 + 8 + 36 + 23 = 270$
Total no. of students $= 12$
Therefore,
Mean marks $= \frac{Sum of marks}{total no. of students} = \frac{270}{12} = 22.5$
